Candidate Profiles

Candidates for: President & Chief of Staff

Kenya McCain and Aumario "EJ" Landrum

Snapshot of their Platform:

The Role of Student Body Presidents and Chief of Staff is designed to lead a team of executives and senate members and execute initiatives that benefit all students and all of campus. We as president and chief of staff will use our voices to represent the student body's voices. We believe it’s crucial to maintain honesty, take ethical action, and hold the student body accountable and vice versa. Our goal is for EVERY student, EVERY club, and EVERY voice to be represented and seen as we push for more collaboration between SGA and clubs/organizations, more consistent and engaging programming, and general fun on campus. So that EVERYONE finds a seat at the table—and if there isn’t one, we’ll build it together.

Slogan: EVERY student, EVERY club, EVERY voice, EVERY 1.

Candidate for: Budget Director

Noah Landever

Prioritize building the campus community and culture, focusing on the college’s pillars: Participation, Scholarship, and Service, while also working with the student governmentas a whole to address campus saftey issues. As budget director, I will work to ensure all clubs and organizations have the resources they need to contribute to the student experience at McPherson College.

Rhyan Lucas

As Director of Belonging, my goal is to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel seen, heard, and valued. I plan to expand on this by creating spaces and programs that represent the backgrounds and identities of all students, while also addressing the barriers that may prevent student engagement. I will work to actively listen to the needs of students, especially those who are often underrepresented, and use that feedback to foster change. With the help from my peers, other organizations, and campus leaders, my commitment is to create a culture that feels like home for everyone.

Candidate for: Historian

Melissa Rogers

My platform primarily focuses on campus engagement and collaboration amongst other teams and clubs across campus. With that, I aim to create a more interactive and vibrant campus life. I also want to highlight the clubs we have on campus because I feel like not a lot of attention is brought to the events they host and overall what clubs we do have to offer. I want to continue the active use of social media, as a way to highlight the events because social media is what majority of the student population uses on campus.
