McPherson College attempts to assure adequate medical care to its students through health services available in the McPherson community and required health and accident insurance.

McPherson College has partnered with Partners in Family Care as our on campus health care provider.

Open to the publicdrop ins are welcome, but patients with appointments and the McPherson College community receive priority.

FREE for full-time McPherson College students (lab services will be submitted to insurance). Faculty and Staff will be submitted to insurance.

Personal Counseling

McPherson College is a proud partner with Client Centered Counseling, a fully licensed counseling practice that offers everything from helping a student stressed about finals to working with significant medical concerns. The office is open several days a week and allows for both appointments and walk-in visits. McPherson College will pay for the first ten (10) visits per student, per academic year. Student visits to the clinic are confidential. Please contact the Student Services office for more information.

What if I am sick?

Send an email to each of your faculty to inform them that you are sick and when you plan to return. It is the responsibility of the student to set up a time to meet with that faculty person and get what was missed in class.

Insurance Information

Health & Accident Insurance

All students are required to have medical insurance coverage. They document that coverage with the Student Services office. If you have questions about health insurance, please contact the Student Services office at 620-242-0500 or studentlife@mcpherson.edu.

Athletic Insurance

All student-athletes must enroll in the athletic insurance plan at the beginning of fall semester. This insurance is in addition to either the parent’s or student’s insurance plan.

 

 

A Guide to Depression & Suicide Among Students

Sometimes College students struggle with depression, anxiety, mental health issues, and suicidal ideation. It's important to recognize the warning signs for suicide in students and to get help, for yourself or for others.

  • How to recognize suicidal thoughts and behaviors 
  • Steps educators and peers can take to help people struggling with depression
